We needed to renew our EHIC health cards for this year's trip to France. They took 5 mins to order online and arrived a few days later - and all free too!

So my little red book driving licence is no longer valid? Whoops.
Yes I do still have one, issued in 1967.
As do I, though issued in 1972.
I have just changed from the green paper one as I will be 70 next month.
I passed my PSV test in 1972, and it was just a sheet of A4 paper back then plus a plastic drivers'-badge. I held that licence for 50 years and I was still driving Heritage buses as a volunteer until 2022. I only gave it up because renewing my CPC was going to cost me £500 even though renewing my licence was free apart from the cost of a medical. I'm nearly 76 now but I still miss the old buses, but I still drive Heritage diesel trains.

My will be due to be changed later this year for the third time! I wonder if there is any point in them doing this 3 year thing once you reach 70? Does it serve any purpose?
Of course it does. You have to declare your fitness to drive, where as up the the age of 70 you don't unless you have a notifiable medical condition. There are plenty of people out there that would like to see us oldies not have driving licences!!!
I had the paper one for years but it was in a bit of a state when I took it out of the plastic wallet! As we were going to Canada and hiring a motorhome , I decided to get a photo one!

I had a letter suggesting that I renew my driving licence online before my 70th birthday. I tried, but because I no longer have a passport, the online application failed as they didn't have a recent photo.
So I filled in the form, posted it without a photo & 3 days later my new licence arrived!
