Arrived at Preston 3 weeks ago last Tuesday. Terrible stomach pain Thursday night. Cane to the hospital and had to have a stoma bag! Result of king ago minor surgery. Still here but feel ok now. Don't know how much longer I will be here but I can stay as long as necessary m. There was talk of repatriation but that won't happen Not a good holiday especially for poor old OH.
Hi, Franbee, OH is on Moss Lane CL, 5 miles away. Boring for him. We don't need to go home until I can be discharged. The site owner is very understanding.
What a shock, and certainly not how you planned your holiday!
Hope you are on the right side of things and they are looking after you well "up north".
Preston is one of our relatively local hospitals (70 odd miles) that people from the area get sent to. Grandson and d-i-l were transferred there after his very premature birth.
Pity we're in France at the moment or I could have jumped on the train and come for a visit.
Might have got some funny looks asking for Mrs Bonce though!!!
Gosh, Mrs B - not good! What a shock that must have been. It’s a great thing you’re on a CL - the owners of such places can make their own decisions, not bound by rules set by bosses far away. As long as OH has his Sky Sports working ok, I’m sure he’ll cope.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Thanks Fiona, yes, he has the sports so all is not lost! The site owner and people staying there are very kind and helpful. Offers to get his shopping etc. one woman gave him a lift to the shop.
I'm really sorry to hear your bad news. I had thought that you hadn't posted for a while, but assumed your trip was going so well that you didn't need to ask for any advice etc, how wrong can one be?
I hope that you'll feel better and able to be discharged soon.
Have stayed at the same CL about 6 years ago and remember the owners being really nice. At least there are no worries about how long you'll be able to stay there.
I’m so sorry to hear about what has happened Mrs Bonce! I really hope you feel better soon and can be discharged. We live in Liverpool, so not far away from you, and next week we are heading up to Morecambe Bay (even closer) for a few days in the caravan, so if there is anything at all we can do for either you or your husband, please let me know.

Thanks Bofs, how kind of you. Hope you are having a good time in France. Where are you and how is the weather?
Yes, it's been a really good trip so far, thank you.
We've been in the Loire, southern Brittany and now the Vendee for a few days as we're meeting the caravan service engineer on a site near here next week, before taking the caravan back to storage. We're into week 5 of our trip, and although we've had a few cooler days it's been mostly dry and warm, though the last week or so we've had some really hot days (30°+). Thank goodness for plenty of shade, a nice breeze and air-conditioning in the car!
Has your OH discovered the British Commercial Vehicle Museum at Leyland - may be his thing seeing as there's not much sport atm?
