Im looking at getting a Volvo XC40 2.0l petrol to tow a 1450kg caravan. Does anyone tow with one if so what are the good and bad things with this vehicle.
Thanks for that I haven’t /even able to look at them yet as I am in Spain. I am surprised that you say they are small inside. I am open to all suggestions both for and against.
Hi we have the BMW x1 at present, and are measuring against this, which is not entirely large, but seems more roomy than the XC40. have jsut test drove a Hyundai Tucson hybrid and found this to be plenty roomy, the CX5 we looked at also was plenty roomy.
getting into the XC40 i banged my head on the drivers door surround, and was incredibly uncomfy even just in the show room.
Also going to look at the nissan xtrail in a week or two.

Thanks for that I didn’t realise that it was so small.
We have the last of the diesel mk3 Kugas the AWD 190 and tows impeccably. Have had a brand new Discovery nothing but problems. Sorento and Santa Fe Autos towed well, but not as fuel efficient as the Kuga
We have a 23 Tucson hybrid which tows our Bailey Phoenix very well.
Plenty of power and stable. It is roomy and well equipped. 5 year warranty too. Economy reasonable towing, excellent solo.
It can tow 1650kg. The newest version has a lower towing limit.

We have a Motobility 70 reg diesel at the moment which is the best tow car we’ve had apart from a new 54 plate Hyundai Santa Fe. The one we are getting can tow 1600kg which is ok for us as our van is 1450kg. We hopefully pick our new one up in September.
