I have the Witter detachable towbar but no matter what I do it will not click into place into the housing. I've looked over many posts on this forum and others with users having the same issue. A good chunk of them suggest the housing is dirty and needs cleaning. I've spent a lot of time cleaning the housing with a wire brush but still no success. I've managed to take some pics of the housing (not the best quality I must admit) to see if anyone can notice anything that might be stopping my towbar from clicking into place.
I've also uploaded some pics of the towbar in a charged state
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm pulling my hair out at this stage.
We’ve just changed our car and have the same on the car . We took it to be serviced also asked how to attach it x if there is a tow bar fitter near you go and ask . Also look on you tube x
Hello again also because I found it difficult and very heavy . I was told you must press it hard on the floor to get more pressure then turn it until the lock goes right in it has to be in . Then when attaching it to car move it up and down a bit until it clicks make sure it’s in the right location . It should click . Or have you locked it by mistake .
I haven’t tried this in my own yet . If I can’t do it when we are going away I will travel via tow bar fitters and ask them again .
I don't know about the Witter product but with mine I am pretty sure that you need the key to be in the lock to install it.
I might be talking rubbish but you might like to give it a try.

Hi guys.
Thanks for the feedback, it's really appreciated.
Unfortunately the clutch has gone on my car and with a with a host of other issues with the car it's going to the scrap yard. It's been one of those weeks.
But again thanks for getting back in touch 👍
