I have a 2024 Kia Sportage 1.6 Hybrid and looking for any reviews on how they tow before I take the plunge and buy a caravan.
Any advice welcome please.
You need to check the specification for the car. That will tell you its maximum towing weight.
We have a 2023 Hyundai Tucson self charging hybrid. It can tow 1650kg. Our van has max weight of 1430kg. It tows very well.
The 2024 version of our car has a lower towing limit and less bhp. Our van would be too heavy.
Plug in hybrids have a lower limit.
The Sportage shares the same running gear and powertrain as Hyundai so worth checking.
Exceeding max weight would invalidate the warranty.
Once you know what it can tow you can look at suitable caravans.

Thanks for your reply,..yes checked all the numbers and it has a max of 1650kg and I do believe that other than the looks your car is the same as mine.
What sort of mileage do you get when towing.
23 to 27 towing.Have seen 55mpg and more solo.It has plenty of power, holds 60mph on motorway.
It's stable too.its coming up to 10,000 mil3s and mpg has improved.

on this subject I am considering buying one of the above cars. I am a tad reluctant currently with the 1.6 engine size. My volvo xc60 has a 2.4 diesel in it so no problem at all plus it is a 4x4. however it is time to change after 165000 miles in it so with my budget a 2002 Sportage or Tuscon is being considered. No diesel in the uk for the 5th generation sportage so deliberating between the hybrid or the plug in hybrid. All opinions and experience is welcome.
Well my wife has a 2025 Sportage 1.6 petrol mild hybrid.
I’ve just checked the V5 and it gives no towing weights at all. I even checked the plate on the B pillar and it also gives no train weight.
I'd be looking at a 2022 model. I've read it can tow 1650kgs which should be ok.. dont expect good mog whilst towing ti be honest. thanks for your reply
