As usual there are 3 different ways to go. Does anyone know which would be the best for towing? One takes us to the M5 which I hadn't considered. Only going that way as there seems to be no decent sites near Newbury which are open all year, apart from Rhodeside where Harry the Hound died, so that is a no no.

I would take A40 towards Gloucester. Then via Birdlip (a436) to M5.
Quite a good, straightforward towing route.
