Hi everyone, we're due to tow to Macdonald's Farm in Cornwall this weekend but the website no longer has the directions for if you're towing. Last time we went I got a bit lost coming back and lived one of my worst nightmares of towing through a tiny town with narrow streets and really want to avoid it! Has anybody got the route? Or advice on how I can find a route without forking out hundreds on a sat nav that has a towing feature? Help appreciated!
Google Macdonalds farm Cornwall. Then on left hand side click DIRECTIONS and it will give route turn by turn. Don't click right hand side as this gives website no directions.
I use TomTom Mydrive web site to plan routes, you can select vehicle type, filter out various road types etc. It's free, you don't need a TomTom sat nav or a account.
I did a sample route for you from Bristol (no idea where you are coming from!), selected Car & trailer, set a few typical dimensions and this is what it came up with:
You can set your own vehicle dimensions and do the job properly. If you have an ordinary car TomTom sat nav and a/c, you can download the route to it. Just remember to turn OFF auto re-routing otherwise it may try and find you what it thinks is a better route based solely as a car, and lose the critical car and trailer filtering! No TomTom, just copy the shown route!
without knowing where your coming from - presumming your heading south on the a30? head towards indian queens and come off the a30 taking the right hand lane (3rd exit) follow the a39 to next roundabout and take 3rd exit (a39), next roundabout also 3rd exit a39 continue for 1.8 miles to the talskiddy turn (left) then follow signs for st eval, once thr that take a right at the padstow turn continue on to treburrick and then turn right as you leave the village it is signposted from there
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
