Hi We have just purchased an Elddis Crusader Super sirocco we need to change our car and have a budget of around £4000 We have been looking at Hyundai Terracan 2.9 Kia Sportage Jeep Grand Cherokee (Overland)Please could anyone give advice on these cars or suggest any others we should consider Thanks so much.
we have the same caravan, the kia isn't heavy enough at all for it! so that leave the Hyundai and the jeep, personally I wouldn't have either of them. I would however be going for a proper 4x4 we found with ours that you needed a big lump on the front end as when on a motorway anything passing you could make it very unstable with side to side sway along with the ruts in the road at least a proper 4x4 would sit in the ruts instead of having to ride over them
Mitsubishi Shogun, Toyota Land Cruiser,LR Discovery or Range Rover.Shogun quite popular,Land Cruisers quite rare second hand.
My mate had the Terracan which was very good.
Kia Sorento is good tug,we have had 3 and plenty tow twin axles.
We have a 2016 Santa Fe which is very good, but our van is max 1400kg.
You could consider a crewcab pickup?

How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
We had a Hyundai Terracan at one time and it was a very capable car. Towing was never a problem and fuel consumption was pretty good for nearly 3 litres. Towing we achieved 26mpg and solo about 36mpg. Rear wheel drive with selectable 4 wheel drive plus high and low ratios.
Would you mind answering the question you have been asked 3 times up now, it is very important to know as the answer will show if you can tow this caravan at all.
When did you pass your driving test … pre 1997 or after?
