So why not just join Arrival through the C&C club which covers motor and caravan, still operated by RAC.

We have a motability car so of course the car is covered by the motability scheme. I insure the caravan via Caravan and Motorhome Club. I do check each year for the best deal on the caravan insurance ie price and reliability. CAMC have always been competitive for me.

After reading the exclusions of lifesure does not give you full cover in differing circumstances,ie after accident, or two way cover to site for holiday and then home again as the insurances for both the caravan clubs do.

We use Cover4Caravans. covers costs of continuing holiday and the hire of a caravan, deliver of caravan to storage address. Much cheaper than anything quoted by the clubs.

If caravan is immobilised in an accident then first call is to caravan insurance not breakdown. Insurance covers accident recovery. Caravan breakdown only becomes a problem if you cannot change your own wheel because apart from a puncture there is not much to go wrong. Any car breakdown cover that recovers caravan along with car should cover wheel change to caravan as well as car. A phone call to provider should confirm this.

You stated a mobility car which is a vehicle with specific adaptions that is custom made for the disabled person driving that vehicle. If it's the 'Motability' vehicle scheme for disabled people then you need to clarify which of the two you are referring to.
If it is the latter then the vehicle is already covered for 3 years by the RAC under the contract which is impossible to include a trailer under that said agreement.

Did you acquire the upgrade whilst members of the Camping & Caravanning Club?
I believe that was that the only way that the upgrade could be achieved so has your membership expired at all?

You would be better taking out a breakdown policy that covers car & caravan together & will come out for caravan breakdown. Saga for example. The cover provided with your car is not really suitable for towing if it does not recover caravan along with broken down car. For example if car broke down & needed recovery but they left caravan beside the road would mean caravan is not broken down so any stand alone caravan recovery cover you had would not actually cover you.

Cheers for that SG. I was looking for cover for my crappy old. Done a quote on their website & got a call from them 5mins later. Long chat with them to ensure it’s all I want UK/continental. £66 so job done.

Not bad cover for £15. But the fact its the nearest destination may not suit your needs.

I would rather pay my RAC cover because it will get you home as well.

With that £15 cover you maybe close to the campsite, so it gets you there. But now your vans stuck there because they wont recover it back home or to be repaired.

With my RAC cover it would take you there and then bring you home after the holiday and even drop the van into storage and take you home.

But £15 to get the van somewhere, its better than nothing.

Just testing and the caravan age seems to have 1992 as the oldest. Nope wont cover caravans over 20 years old.

I just got a quote for normal uk/continental caravan insurance cover with them not the extra bit you mention. They seemed quite helpful. They had all the cover I required.

Hi Helrog 123,

I use "Quoteline Direct" for my breakdown cover, I use them even though my car has cover under the manufacturers warrany period, as Quoteline's cover is far superior than the cars warranty breakdown cover.

UK & continental cover for £59.00 a year, it covers the car & caravan, Qoute from their cover " CARAVAN or TRAILER Any attached small general trailer no mor than 3 metres/10 feet long (unlesspreviously notified and accepted by us) or any attached caravan will be entitled to the same service as the vehicle, as long as it is attached by a standard 50mm towing coupling"
Also covers ALL the usual car hire, onward travel, overnight accommodation etc.
call them on 0161 874 8011/7771 or www.quotelinedirect.co.uk
