It's impossible to give any meaningful advice because we don't know the details of your vehicle. There are lots of different versions of the C4, we can't guess on the tow weights as they may differ from car to car. You need to find out the kerbweight and the max tow weight of your car. These details should be on the V5 and in the handbook, the max tow and gross train weights should also be on the weight plate on the car.
I expect your car has a kerbweight of between 1200 and 1300kg so as a novice tower you should aim for a caravan with a max gross weight of 85% of this. There are not many new caravans that come in that weight range but older, less well equipped caravans may suit your car. The other thing we need to know is how big your caravan budget is.
Come back with some more information and we may be able to offer some sensible ideas.
You should be aiming for a caravan with a max weight of around 85% of that kerbweight. You should not be towing anything heavier than the car. You haven't said which version of the C4 you have but as it is fairly heavy for a C4 I presume it is the 110bhp version, if it's the lower powered engine you may struggle on the hills when towing.
You still haven't mentioned how much you want to spend. If you want a newish van there will not be many that come in that weight range, older caravans will usually be lighter.
Car and caravan weights are very confusing for a safe tow, to give an example:
My Compass Omega 482 is a 2 berth caravan with a very good equipment level, a large rear washroom with a large shower, toilet and big wardrobe, it has a mplm of 1,318kg so a light'ish caravan. My car has a kerbweight of 1,495kg which gives a tow ratio of 88%, engine is a 2.0TDi 136bhp with a torque of 320nm at 1,750 - 2,500rpm, with a 75kg noseweight it tows very good and is stable. The tow limit is 1,600kg
