Hi
Going to Whitby next week and we are thinking about going via Staxton Hill. Is it scary going down Staxton with a caravan.
Will be turning of at Driffield and going up through foxholes.
No, you will be fine going down Staxton Hill with a caravan. Just take care at the top as this is the steepest part with two bends. I have used Staxton numerous times over the last 30 years en route to Scarborough, most recently last week. It was re-surfaced last year as it had become badly rutted.
When coming back up, you can usually get a good run at it on the straight section, before you reach the steepest part on the bends at the top.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
