We need a bit more information to give any meaningful advice:
How big is your budget?
Why does the car have to be under 2000 kg gross?
Manual or auto?
Petrol or diesel?
How many people do you need to carry?

If you can answer these questions we'll be able to make some suggestions.

To keep under the 3500 kg with a caravan plated at 1347 kg your car can be plated at 2153 kg. Ideally you want a car with a kerb weight around 1550 -1600 kg to get a good match for that caravan. Have a look at the advice Tina gave daveuk this morning, Mondeos are easily available but you'll have to check the weight plate on any car you are thinking of purchasing as the models can vary quite a lot from year to year.

Parkers car specs website is very useful for getting a rough idea of weights of different vehicles.

If you can find one! Skoda Octavia Estate 2.0TDi 4x4, GVW 2,095kg pulling your caravan will give a 90% tow ratio and you are under the 3,500kg.
