To the driver who feels that she doesn't need to follow the law!
This morning we were driving anticlockwise on the M25 when we encountered heavy traffic (yes, a rare occurrence). Just picked up speed again between the M40 and M4 junctions when we all had to brake quickly.
Ok for standard vehicles who keep a safe distance and are paying attention, however the lady driving the Seat towing a Abbey caravan in the outside lane, wasn't paying too much attention and only just managed to stop in time, luckily we wasn't hit, but my husband did report her to the police as he is certain you shouldn't be in the outside lane towing even if the traffic is only going 60mph. luckily his company installed front & rear dash cam as they get lots of complaints about peoples driving, and this captured everything in HD, including her registration etc and the police said they would look into it!
Well done mummyintent. Alerting the authorities to someone who drives dangerously is plainly sensible. Perhaps a timely word from the police will prevent a future accident.
To accuse you of being a grass is both childish and irresponsible.
I really can't believe some of the comments on here.
A crime is a crime whether or not it is speeding, towing in the outside lane or robbery.
Would Billy not want thieves reported if they were seen breaking and entering his house?
We have far too many criminals in this country and it will be a better place if we stop treating vehicle crime as some sort of nonentity with the police, not the criminal, as the villains.
Daves1
The trouble is Daves1 we are making more and more law some good some bad and therefore making criminals out of just about everyone.
In motoring terms it's become a cash cow and just tax collection.
Then we have law in which you can be guilty before being charged with an offerce, the so called penalty crimes, guilty with no intent, stowaways on trucks and thought crime, reading about bomb making for example.
4, or is it 5 lanes of traffic with variable speed limit? All cops worry about on the 25 is keeping traffic moving. Let them do their job as they see fit, the last thing they want is dash cam heros playing cops. They would not be the slightest bit bothered with a trailer or truck in the outside lane in this section.
On Motorways to my knowledge it 60 mph
WHEN we pack up in 2013 some idiot towing a twin Axle passing me at the time pulled in to quickly into my lane and it cause me ? ( And i nearly ended in the ditch)

Not on the QE bridge they don't.
Just sit there eating their sandwiches while the traffic builds up.
Same on the Severn Bridge I recall.
In New York the police make them raise the toll barriers and wave the traffic thru when it is slowing up too much.

Good for you , I'm on your side and wouldn't hesitate to report these idiots to the authority's.
The rules of the road apply to everyone
I think perhaps the police should have a word to remind her of the Highway Code in respect to this issue. Seeing people towing in in the outside lane or towing way over the speed limit with snaking vans or trailers is one thing that gets my goat.
In fact last week I was driving on business and 2 trucks were travelling at equal speeds in lanes 1 and 2. For a moment I was resigned to the fact I was going to be stuck behind them, in their battle of wills, until I realised I wasn't towing my caravan.
