Not a cheap car though & there will be other makes that do the job equally well.
As Skoda have gone upmarket & mainstream over the years its a pity to see all the original small Skoda franchises with loyal customer base & personal service gradually pushed out in favour of the large corporate dealerships.

Another award in the bag for VAG. It might as well be a Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, Lamborgini, Porsche etc.
Don't get me wrong. We love them all. Currently Audi.------------- Steve

We are getting 67 mpg and 42 mpg towing, pay £0 Excise tax, 3 years free servicing, full valeting 4 times a year and O% finance. It also goes like the proverbial off a shovel.
Seems to be a no brainer

The purpose of these tests is to see if they all do equally well. Very obviously they do not, hence the award.

So how would say, a Ford Mondeo or Vauxhall Insignia with similar engines tow the same caravan any worse? Whats your theory? Be specific here.

The op uses poetic licence, Skoda is the 2014 winner only in its class against mainly 1.6litre opposition. Towcar of the year overall winner 2014 is the Nissan Qashqai.

For god's sake "Roger", can you never give it a rest. You'd be such a valued member if you weren't such an idiot at times. Such a shame that someone with so much useful info to share, can also be so rude and argumentative and spoil so many threads. Oops, I fed him too, grrrr-------------
