I have a picasso 2.0Hdi and I tow my folding caravan max weight 880kg and it pulls with ease, max nose weight of 80kg (van is 75kg though) Have you looked at the Freedom range of vans? there are 4 berth ones out there and they are lightweight (max 780kg)

I was just going to say the same thing - a freedom microlite!

I have a little dutch Kip van, towing with no probs with an automatic Nissan Almera 1600. Max laden weight 650kg.

towcar eu

has a towcar/caravan match calculator which I think is excellent!

Plenty of older 4 berth caravans are well under your 900kg limit. This Eccles Topaz I've just sold had a maximum weight of 810kg and was fine for four people. A Sprite Alpine would be even lighter but a bit "cosy" for four. Alternatively you could get a two berth caravan and sleep the other two on an air bed in the awning.
