I know this is an old post, but i wondered how you (freeatlast) could tell the dpf was going through a cleaning cycle when you put it into your garage when as you say no lights on and no limp mode or anything? Just wondered if my car had done it yet and hadn't noticed.
The dfp will start a cleaning cycle once you are driving along a clear rd at about 50 or faster, provided you are driving at this speed or more for a few miles without slowing down, the cycle will complete. There will be no indication this is happening.
