Well I have to say that comes as a complete surprise I thought I had made a big mistake but after reading this maybe not and by the way it is nothing to do with reversing after driving HGV for the last 40 years I have no problem reversing I just fancy a change so thanks for all the replies.Ian

Why bother with a 4x4 for that van, when most auto saloons hatch or estate's will tow it, yes my usual spiel, but the VW range have the DSG so you can leave it in full auto or play manually like a F1 driver but without a clutch pedal.
If you insist on getting the 4x4 and its from a dealer, just make sure the gearbox oil and more importantly the slim filter inside it, is changed and you should have no problems
