Thanks Trevor, that is helpful.Would like to know what difference the new springs make to the ride height.I am going to get onto Kia again.
Do you know whether the new springs are the same as the old springs or are they the ones fitted to newer Sportages?

Hi Guys,
Just picked the car up and attached is the invoice with some details confirming what they did.

The ride back was a little 'stiffer' in the rear but not so you'd really notice if you weren't thinking about it.

I'll measure the towball height when the van is coupled shortly.

Hi Trev, Copied and pasted the link but it didn't lead anywhere.
Have you measured the ride height, I think you said it was 395mm before.

Hi
Strange about the link - its a Box share link and works OK for me. Anyway the ride height has gone to 408/410mm, obviously includes my towbar so I'd say that was now within the expected KIA spec. When I have time I'll hook upto the van (still on the drive) and see what the new clearance is.

I was measuring this to a reference point on the towball it was 295mm before the spings were fitted with the van coupled and 80Kg measured nose weight.

If the springs are indeed stiffer that should be higher now.

Regards.

Saw one of these towing a medium sized Sterling van on the M42 today. Car dragging its backside along the ground and the van's tail wagging about in the air - looked wrong!
