Unfortunately mines not new so didn't get that choice . Towing prep would have included twin fans

Read somewhere about Volvo XC90's (I think), where their ATF coolers are 'modular', because if you're towing, you need 'extra' cooling.

OK, extra modules for the ATF cooler, but how is it going to get the extra air through the extra fins??

I have a 177ps A4 multitronic. It's 2 years old, 80,000 miles on the clock, lots of towing and no additional fan. I've had no issues and no comment from the dealer who services it.
