It will be back to the old style with the really long arms that fit on the wing and under the bonnet??
Seen two Dutch cars with them fitted a few weeks ago.
Oh dear! I'd forgotten about those monstrosities! Funny how the mind blanks out the bad stuff! I'm certainly old enough to remember them, but think I/we were more cavalier back in the day about such things and 'got by' with standard wing mirrors! ... but also wasn't towing caravans back then, so probably narrower trailers.
Had a quick Google, looks like you may be importing wing mounted mirrors from Aus or USA, didn't see any UK/Euro sources!
Got so used to door mirrors and simple clip on towing mirrors! Not sure about scope of the rear view cameras, but I use my Milencos set for surrounding traffic/past the van, but I adjust my (electric) door mirrors to capture lower sides of caravan and wheels to ensure I'm clear of kerbs and obstacles when cornering.
I remember having a towing mirror than clipped onto the door at the bottom of the window. There was a bar that went down to the middle of the door and a bungy strap that attached to the bottom of the door. Didn't have anything on the nearside apart from the wing-mirror. It worked, but I can only think of one thing to say in it's favour. It only took about 5 seconds to attach.
When we were in Australia touring in our rented campervan, we saw a lot of caravans.
Favourite tugs were Land Cruisers.Shoguns or Hilux pickups. They had big replacement door mirrors which could extend outwards for towing. Toyota are very popular there. We did see a couple of Discoveries.
Great idea . Probably not cheap and must be type approved.
They had similar ones on big SUVs and pickups in Canada.

I have used several brands of towing mirror over the past 20 years which included Quest and Milenco. However, with the Milenco towing mirrors they fit to the front of the mirror housing so the wind is pushing against the towing mirror without any restraint so could dislodge and fall off. In saying that this did happen to me when temperatures rose to above 30 degrees and I think the door mirror housing got that hot that it became flexible thus losing the driver's side towing mirror. Of course it was severely damaged so I bit the bullet and invested in a pair of EMUK towing mirrors and can say that they are definitely fit for purpose as they wrap around the rear of the door mirror instead so any direct wind pressure won't cause the towing mirror to fail so no loss of towing mirrors in the future. I used them on my previous towcar without any issues so purchased a pair for my current towcar. In this instance, you do get what you pay for.
My mirrors are Maypole ones. If you do get what you pay for, I've got a bargain as I've been using them on 3 different cars over the past 12 years. I did once have to buy longer straps as my X Trail mirrors are bigger than on previous cars. Other than that I have had no problems at all and very little chance of them coming off while driving. Good view behind too. Being an ex-coach driver I do appreciate decent mirrors.
