thanks for the feedback. the noise from the engine is a quite important factor for comport. i am going tomorrow to have a look at the x trail and to make enquirees about ssanggyong korando (i hope i have spelt it right).i have heard it has a mitsubisi engine which seems to be well regarded.thanks all.

Realise this thread is a longtime dead, but just in case anyone comes across it like myself.......

Have been looking for a Tucson for a few weeks, (close decision with the Santa Fe), and almost brought a nearly new from a Car Supermarket....

Ended up buying from a dealership....although the screen prices were quite far apart, by the time you took into account the better part-ex at the dealers and their more "flexible" haggling I ended up with a better deal from the main dealer!!

Brought the Tucson, (2Ltr Diesel CDX) 55 plate........Picking it up Sunday, and first run out with the Van at Easter!!
