The honest answer Supatramp is that I just fancy a 4 X 4. I am getting more and more decadent in my old age.

x trail but i would say that.

i have a friend with a sorrento and he has had build quality problems. another friend in the motor trade talks of expensive parts when out of warranty for the kia.

the x trail is a dream when towing and really nippy around town.

i have owned the petrol and diesel and must say the diesel is really quick of the mark and the 4 wheel drive system is spot on for towing in the wet etc.

The Kia will tow a heavier caravan than the X -trial . The X-trial will tow most light single axle caravans but not twin axles if you are likely to upgrade your van to a twin you may find the x-trial isn't upto the job ? Also Kia has a 3 year comprehensive warranty what does the nissan have ?

The xtrail will tow 2000kg braked and I wager that the Kia Sorento will not return as good MPG as the x-trail towing the same or for that matter any van.

Warranty is 3 years (60,000) miles.

Although I think the X-Trail is brill and is well up to the job of towing my van, I did go to the local dealer today and drive a brand new one.

The cost  to trade in for a brand new model with full leather etc almost made me drop.   I can get £2k more selling private than what they offered and have someone who wants to buy it.

Off to test drive a Hyundi Santa Fe CRDT CDX+ at the weekend as it has a lot more spec and the top of the range  CRDT CDX+ comes in cheaper than the xtrail.
