If he gets pulled into a VOSA check and found overweight for his license he could be fined.
Also if he had an accident insurers could refuse a claim as he is not licensed to B+E.
You can't tell some people.

We have already explained all that to him as well Dave. Everyone on here tries very hard to help people to to be safe and legal, but there are always people who insist on doing what they like, legal or not.
Like I've said I'm taking my B & E licence course in July my van won't be on the road until after then .. I will be fully licensed to tow my van when we go away in August.. all happy now
