There are only 2 of us so the seats go down and almost everything heavy goes in the car.The 'van travels with just an aquaroll and wastemaster sitting on the axle. I don't bother to check the weight as I know the car is at least 25% heavier than the 'van

I tow at 92%, but I too know that with the car fully loaded and careful loading in the van, its more like 85% at most.

I think careful loading is the most important thing, and getting the noseweight spot on. I've had no problems whatsoever so far.

2.0 Toyota Picnic automatic, 1997, 33mpg solo, 25mpg towing. Cost me £900 10k miles ago, and hasn't cost me a penny in repairs.

I only tow at 67% and it still gulps fuel, how much more fuel do you use towing at 90%
I used to tow at 89%, and now tow at 65%. Surprisingly, I haven't noticed any improvement in economy. I do feel more relaxed though when towing.
