i use a mondeo tdci... 45 solo and around 25 with van mainly motorway driving.... i find that the faster you go (60-65) towing the worse the consumption gets must be the additional drag created by the van at speed because trundling around normal roads off the motorway it seems to pop up to 35+mpg. so many varibles!!!! just best to ignore the computer thingy and enjoy the relaxed drive!!!

That's because generally the bigger and beefier the engine the less work it has to do to compensate for the extra load. Great engine by the way.
My V8 Discovery on LPG works out to be about 36mpg solo. Drops to about 25mpg at 70mph (France only) with 7 of us, 5 bikes, luggage and about 1000kg on the back.
