had horrendous creaking and cracking noises on the way to Spain and replaced the pads with the spares provided on a French layby!!

I sent the old ones back to Alko as they seemed to be flaking

They returned them like new with the instruction to clean with emery and the comment that it was contamination from diesel fumes etc coating the pads

John,

Should we have received a set of spare pads with our caravan? It came with a 3004 stabiliser as standard fit and is a Series 5 senator. We bought it new from Baileys.

Secondly, we too have just endured an interesting 250 mile drive from Shropshire to Kent with a cacophony of creaks and rumblings coming from (presumably) our hitch, especially so when manouevring slowly or reversing. The pads have only covered at most 2000 miles. Surely they cannot need replacing already?

If you email me your address via the site I will put a torx bit in the post as I found a bag of them in a drawer in the garage (all the same size as the one on the Alko handle)
