I have rang 2 Ford garages for advice on towing weights for my Galaxy, and they were unable to help, not very good service.

In my handbook it says to have a look on the vin plate in the engine compartment, and all the info I need would be there. This is what I found -

V 2510kg

B 4000kg

GV 1240kg

V3 1280/1355kg 

Any clues as to what these figures mean?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

see here ,,find your kerbweight and to be safe the caravan needs to be 85% of this weight.

V 2510kg Gross Vehicle Weight

B 4000kg Gross Train Weight

GV 1240kg Max Trailer

V3 1280/1355kg F/R Axle Max

The Max tow may not be 2000kg as posted by Richard, it will vary by engine and gearbox, (2.0 petrol auto will tow much less than big diesel manual)

Also 2000kg is not even 85% kerbweight of my Disco, something that has a max load of 2720 kg so I suspect that 2000 may be around 85% of your max weight, but not tow weight
