Has anyone been brave enough to try pouring the Coooking Oil in a TD5 tank?? All my other L/Rs would burn anything, but I'm a little cautious with such a "posh" motor!!

dont know about the TD5, but do check it out well, old deisels as you say will burn nearly anything with no damage, however on some newer deisels the fuel pump can be damaged, along with some seals if cooking oil used in a concentration of more than 5%, which alot of suppliers or "city deisel" or similar already add

Think the TD5 is a bit new for svo or wvo, 200 & 300 series engines are great on it though.
Going to a paj site for info on running a disco on oil is pretty pointless Im afraid. they have practically nothing in common.

I had a Peugeot 205 running on cooking oil. The seals in the pump started leaking after a while, but when I run a tank full of diesel through it they sealed up again. I found 10% diesel was enough to stop it happening again. It was a pity the seals leaked and the cooking oil ran into the alternator which needed replacing. Had an Astra after which didn't run so well on cooking oil. The Peugeot was excellent. Not only was it 39p per liter rather than 85p for diesel (at that time) pet the mpg went from 50 to 70 mpg on cooking oil so I was winning every way. Then the press exposed the story and the customs and excise started checking diesel tanks so I had to stop.

Everybody knows that the disco is a darn good machine whatever use you have, but pajs are scared of water and cock a wheel at every opportunity if you dare to take them anywhere a little rough :)
As an aside, I wouldnt even recommend poc to a paj owner, and feel the same about the disco club for completely different reasons.

Do not use cooking oil in your TD5 the engine will not like it
the 200/300 TDi's will run on it
