Hi all, a freind has just bought a 1993 Eldis wisp 400, and he wants to get a decent stablliser for his van. Iv'e got a Alko on my van and am quite happy with it, but does he need any particular alko model, or can any fit his van?. His towing car is a Renault Megane scenic people carrier.

Richard

Hi Richard, I have fitted an Alko 3004(new model)to my van, a 1994 Bailey and according to the instructions it will fit most vans, the crucial bit is the drawbar size, this normally 50mm, but provided in the kit are spacers for smaller diameters. To save some money the 1300 can be fitted also, you pays your money....the difference is in the number of friction pads and ease of use.
I did not have a stabiliser fitted before and I have noticed a big difference, my wife is willing to have a go now.
To see what I did go to my homepage/Other jobs/Replacing the overrun damper and HitchHead
