Does anyone know if it is a legal requirment that a breakaway cable anchor point should be incorporated with a new towbar?

Just had a Peugeot detachable towbar fitted to 407 by a Peugeot dealer.  No anchor point.

No earth return in the 12S socket for the fridge supply.

2 x 12mm mounting bolts not tightened.

No indication that caravan flashers are working/not working.

Not impressed.

I think the answer to your first point is NO.

As for the other points...take it back until it is all installed correctly

Then find a new dealer for any other work in the future

The breakaway cable can be taken round the hitch just below the ball & clipped to itsself--

That is what we used to do in days gone by.  This practice is now not reccomended because the cable could ride over the ball & not activate.  A pigtail is ideal on a fixed bar, but on a detachable bar there is no place to mount one.   My last detachable towbar (Brink) had a hole in the bracket adjacent to the electrics for the cable to clip into.  This towbar does not lend itself to drilling & I would not do this anyway

Just had a towbar fitted on our new Sorento (Witter) it has a hole in the side bt cable won't go through it. I wrap it around the hitch as I always have done in 25 years of caravanning!!
