I was thinking og changing my wifes car to tow a van as she currently has a Scenic to tow our FC.  We are looking at vans now and I thought I could use my Merc.  Does anyone else tow with this model and do you know the kerb weight?

I sold my E300 TD last Feb and would never try and tow with another! It overheated when towing!

I had a 1998 E300TD Estate and would pull a train. Fantastic tow-car, alas driving solo, it would wallow like hell around bends. The 26 MPG (solo) was a put off as well !

In my opinion, it was the last of the over-engineered Mercs before the quality took a dive !

Mine would overheat when towing! Main dealer couldn't solve problem, neither could independant workshops.

I now have a Mondeo TDCI Estate and it's towing capabilities far exceed the Merc!
