You could tow it ok, although the performance wouldnt be that great as you only have 88bhp--but dont let that put you off, the performance would be adequate--well within the car's capabilities. once you loaded the caravan you would be up near 85% of the cars kerbweight--

Thanks, forgot to mention it is an estate - does that make any difference?
no, but dont load to much weight in the boot--the caravan noseweight should be around 70kg-ie there should be about 70kg pressing down on the towball--if you load a lot of weight in the boot you will overload the back axle-- the back of the car will be right down & 'van will also point down-not good--
At 1335kg, the 85% guideline level is 1135kg which means 175kg of equipment if you want to keep within the 85%. Check under the features section for example equipment weights.
How many berths is the nightstar you're looking at? I had a look at a couple on the net today and they were all 5 berth and around 1150kg unladen. My '91 abi tristar is 4 berth and 1035kg unladen.
One option to keep your boot loading at the right level, and if you're limited with what you can put in the van, is to use a roofbox. It will also help with the aerodynamics, we use one on our octavia estate.
