Yep I am sure they are available but having had a replacement sat nav unit at a cost of £2,000 (under warranty) I am not about to do anything that could remotely jeopardise its functionality lol.

With you saying your unit was out of date, i thought youI meant the "map" disc etc.

These wouldn't efect the unit in any way, they are just more updated maps.

Although copy discs are available, genuine nissan discs do come up so won't effect any warranty.

I am going to speak with Nissan tomorrow to see if any thing can be done to add postcode entries.

My Renault vans satnav didn't have post code input at first.

But a newer genuine disc added it via the "city" input line.

Although not as good as a dedicated postcode option, it does work and makes life easier.

I will let you know what they say.

Hi, yes sorry I seem to have confused you here.  It is the maps that are out of date.  My actual sat nav unit went wrong 12 months ago and had to be replaced but none of that £2,000 included discs would you believe!  That was purely the cost of the hardware, total rip off.  Just pray yours doesn't go wrong, it starts off not reading the disc until eventually every journey it just tells you it cannot read it and you get nothing on your display.

The new discs are something like £400 from Nissan I believe, but I won't put anything other than genuine discs in because I won't risk being told it's my fault it has gone wrong blah blah blah.  Just about to advertise the car for sale anyway now that the new thermostat is in.
