The Kia Carens advanced payment as been reduced by £2000, you can now get a Kia carens 2llt petrol S NIL A/P, the diesel 2ltr GS 5seater £495, and the 7seater GS is now £745, the diesel is 138BHP 6speed manual gearbox 1500kg tug 75kg nose weight. (Automatic is only 1100kg tug).
You're welcome Als, noy sure how your left leg is but you use that to release the handbrake on the carens and it was a bit too high for me. The C4 has an electronic handbreak! Not sure if I like that or not yet!
Do you not find that there is a blind spot with the front windscreen pilla.rs. Hubby did and thats one of the reasons we changed. Must Admit I did love my Picasso. But getting used to the Carnes now.

I had a Vauxhall Meriva before and the pillers in that were a big problem for me, I am actually fining the ones in the Picasso are OK as long as I do not put the seat at full height, I am 5ft6/7. Nana is 5ft and she doesn't find them a problem either, she has the seat forward a lot more than me and tends to raise the seat a bit as well.
Not due to change till 2010 but will have a good look round between now and then, quite like the new C4 Picasso 5 seater, the bigger 7 seater would be nice but a bit pricey as yet!
I enjoy towing the van with the Picasso, very comfy and the cruise control makes it even easier! Was at the RIE Hospital this morning, 50 mins each way along the City by-pass, very wet and yucky, with the heating set at 22c and the front window heater on there was a lovely clear screen. It still amazes me how many folks can drive in sleety conditions with no lights or side lights on, ours come on automatically and were dipped. One of the features that I like as well as the auto wipers etc. For the price the Piccasso certainly has some great gadgets on it! A vast improvement on the Vauxhall Meriva which I have to admit I started to dislike about 3 months after getting it.
I never had any problems with the pillars either. So it must have been the position hubby sat in. I told him if he moved his head a bit more he wouldn't have any problem.!! Trouble was he only started to complain about it after we started towing. He said he wanted more "umph" when going up hills. although I was quite happy how it towed. As you know the Abbey Piper is only a small light van. Less weight than your Thomson.

You are probably correct Jadonamy. There seems to be a lot of folks that think the car should be exactly the same solo as it is with a caravan in tow, I was probably lucky in that from first passing my driving test I have always hauled something behind the vehicles I drove. Now been towing for 31 years! Makes me feel really old saying that! lol

thanks papa but as you may know I used to be a fan of the jeep CJ range and they all had the foot pedal parking brake so that shouldnt be a problem for me
the electric parking brake is a no no for me after having one on this c max, it drives me nuts. much prefure the old method of pulling a lever
