Has anyone fitted a perfomance upgrade chip or other device to a Nissan terrano auto or manual?

If so, is it worth the cost

My mate tows with a Terrano, he pulls a twin axle senator with it & reckons it pulls very well. To be honest, as Big Al has said, I've never heard of a chip for it either.
