MY OH just fitted a Purpleline motor mover it's   fantastic. will move a van upto  1800kgs.

Lots of uses not just for getting on and off the drive but single handed hitching and un hitchng, not to mention putting your van in place once you reach a site and also getting it up onto levelling blocks

No more pushing and pulling for us. £588 from Alanscaravans on Ebay. Not cheap but worth every penny.

I have this problem too - compounded by the fact that I have to go in backwards. What I want is something that decouples the damper from the brakes when you reverse uphill. It doesn't seem to exist on caravans younger than thirty years old.

However you can get hand winches for about 30 quid on ebay so maybe that is the way to go. If anyone adds more to my post (called reversing uphill) I'll pass it on. Nick

PS. I'm told the push and pull winches (which have a name I forget) are better than the winding ones.
