Helllo everyone...

Im currently a Nursing Student at Mo and cant afford to upgrade my car well definately not this year...But want to book to go away in the summer with the caravan dont want to risk the car although its been really good so far, cant afford it to break down...(Car is 8yrs old) really need something stronger to tow especially for long journeys can any reccomend a place for me to hire a vehicle not tooo expensive but reliable???

Would love to go to Ireland.....I am from Wales but willing to pick up as long as price is right

I was going to recommend SHB as well. We hired a 110 Defender from them about 18 months ago. The company are linked to supplying vehicles to the construction industry, but our vehicle was pristine. Obviously never been near a building site in its life! I rang ahead and told them that I intended towing a caravan and that the towball must be suitable for an Alko stabiliser and it was all fiited prior to me collecting, including twin electrics and a lower adjustable plate to allow a nose-down attitude on the 'van.

Perhaps not cheap, from memory I think we paid about £600 for ten or eleven days hire (collected on a Friday and returned it on a Monday) but that included a fair old mileage allowance. (Can't remember exactly but probably in the region of 150 miles per day?)

As shown above, hire can be pricey for a car large enough to tow.

Might be worth looking for a big old car, buy it for the trip, sell it afterwards, you might not lose too much, making it cheaper then hiring.
