When I'm reversing my little trailer, I can just see the back corner about 6" before the near corner hits the bumper.

Being a man, I thought that I should master the skill, but I still haven't got around to spraying the bumper yet from my first efforts.

No, my trailer is not bigger than normal and is only a standard 4' x 3' wooden-sided camping trailer. I usually have estates with a view of the trailer, but when I had a saloon with a high boot I fitted two 12" long rubber car radio aerials on the rear corners. I could then see over the top of the boot what the trailer was doing before it appeared in the mirror. Once it appeared in a door mirror it was generally too late to get it back. If I tow a caravan I reverse wholly on mirrors, as I used to do when I drove artics; when I reverse my camping trailer I do it on whatever gets me a view of the trailer. It really isn't magic; steering inputs need to be only quite small. Large inputs will very quickly tie you in knots.
