I am about to buy a Abbey County Warwick caravan with a weight of 1230kgs, I have been looking at buying a Volkswagen Touran 2.0 Diesel with a towing limit of 1500kgs, is this a good towing car or should I look at something else.

Hi Sarah, I tow a 1500 Kg. 'van with a 2.0 Touran DSG, and find it to be an excellent towcar. Had the combination in Italy two years running, and loads of week-ends away locally, and it's been superb. Solo I get around 45 mpg, all short drives, and towing I get around 27 mpg. - The only downside I have found is the fact that I didn't get a spare-wheel of any description supplied, just a can of gue and a compressor, although I've since removed seats 6 & 7, and fitted a full size spare in their place.I'm not sure, but I think the earlier 5 seaters were supplied with a space-saver wheel, but it's something you should bear in mind, particularly as you intend towing with it.
