Hi , already posted on outdoor life , thought I may as well post it here too.

Has anyone got any experience of the Ssangyong Rodius or Rexton??

We are looking for a 7 seater diesel with plenty of luggage room and hopefully reliable!!

Any info or views would be welcome.

Not really , oh has his heart set on a Rodius....but I have to say that the new car tax seems a bit extortionate !!! Although if all big cars are going to be the same then it won't make any diff!!

I suppose they are quite good cars - as long as you only go out in the dark.

I admit that they are not to everyones taste but we like the "ugly" cars!!

We've had a renault "shake your ass" megane , a Ssangyong Korando and now want a Rodius...our budget won't stretch to a full merc....and not sure i'd want it to (most by us are driven on the school run by women who "can't drive backwards!!" )

We like something a bit different ...but draw the line at a Fiat Multipla!!!!

I admit that it does have a Mercedes engine - but that's the bit you can't see.

I suppose that if someone did a hearse conversion of a Rexton, I might be seen dead in it.

A Fiat Multipla is ugly because of the job it's designed to do, and the way it does it - very well, I might add.  Rodiuses (or is it Rodii?) and Rextons are ugly because the designers do not know how to make a car look like it wasn't conceived by a short-sighted seven year-old.

OH would like a rexton, There is a SSangyong garage not far from Mother inlaws house house and we alwaqys have a look.

I would say buy a used one as they do de-value quickly and if you buy a brand new one woudl just be a waste.

Personally I think the rodius is ugly, however for space and practicality I would have one if we needed the space for luggage and dogs aswell as having 7 seats as they are huge.

Watch that road tax tho,

Good luck with your search

was talking to a guy who had a rodius when we went to sherwood forest this year, he had a Kia Sedona before that and to be fair the rodius is a big car, but he did say it is not as stable towing than the Sedona but easily more effortless power wise
