Why not choose a pair of old-fashioned ones? I have had the modern types, but have gone back to ones which mount over the window edge with a rubber strap around the bottom of the door, or the kind which fit between the bonnet and wing with a tension arm under the wheelarch. Both types offer a much better view than the modern stuff. The drawback is that they are more difficult to store than modern types. Both sorts can be sourced easily on ebay.

I have a pair of the raydot ones, the Milenco areo wont fit as the clips on the arms are to long and foul the adjustment of the door mirror. The raydot clips are shorter, the glass area larger and are a doddle to fit.------------- Mike+Judi.

Flat on both sides, doesn't seem to be a problem, with offside door mirror adjusted can get good view down side of the van when getting ready to overtake on a motorway or dual carriageway.------------- Mike+Judi.

I have Summit ones on my Touran with the similar shaped door mirrors. They are fine and stay put no problem.
Got them at Halfords
