Anyone any idea on tyre pressure for a 145 r10 trailer wheel pls, my son has just bought a s/hand camping trailer  not sure on tyre pressure says on tyre 65psi max seems a bit high for a 6x4 camping trailer

Hi John

It depends on the tyre Load Index.

If the max pressure on your tyre is 65psi I suspect it's a 145R10C (8PR) with a load index of 82.

If so the pressure depends on axle load (max gross weight of trailer)

594kgs = 36psi

641kgs =- 40psi

696kgs = 44psi

741kgs = 48psi

777kgs = 51psi

821kgs = 54psi

856kgs = 57psi

890, 908 & 950kgs are 60, 62 & 65 psi respectively but although legal do not include the strongly recommended 10% safety factor advised by the Tyre Manufacturers for single axle trailers.

Don't forget trailer tyres should be renewed every 5 years (recommended) with a max of 7 years.

thanks for that tyreman not sure of the weight of the trailer but i put 40 psi in the tyres early today will probably put 44/48psi in and go with that
