I'm not quite sure I get the gist of your post - do you mean that it doesn't matter if your caravan is overweight in relation to your tow car it doesn't matter as long as you pack it sensibly?

Btw, as it seems you're a newbie on here I'll just point out that text in capital letters is regarded as shouting

I think he was shouting!!!

Seeing other people with outfits that look overloaded does not mean you can do it yourself.

When the van is on its side on the motorway with 10 miles of traffic behind it, It will be too late to take any advice.

All he needs to do is find the correct Kerbweight for his car and the maximum permissible weight of his van and stick to 85% if he has never towed before.

The first 32 tonner that passes him on a windy day might just surprise him.

Andy

Like this one?  http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=lAfZ1N56qjY

Nah, I've never seen one quite as bad as that.  I do remember years ago pitching next to some chap with a Montego who had been towing a twin-axle that was probably 50% heavier than the car

Cheers

You asked, we answered. I'm sorry if it wasn't the answer you wanted. If you are not going to take any notice of the advice given, why bother posing the question in the first place?
