Ok the insurance for one of my cars is due and as the club mag had just hit the door mat and had an ad for the club insurance I thought we would give it a go and get a quote. The ad said "competative" ok done the web site searches and the best I got was £320 and the worst £475 now are you sitting down the club quote was £956 my god how good is that, and yes your rightI went with........ well not the club.

I know people say you get what you pay for but what on earth are you getting for that price ? has anyone gone with the club or got a normal down to earth price.

I also found the CC to be very uncompetitive as far as car insurance is concerned. I have been with Zurich for some years and decide to get a quote from the CC, suffice to say I am still with Zurich. I hear good things about NFU but I don't think they do online quotes.

I drive an 05 Nissan Patrol 3.0Di SVE and my renewal quote from Liverpool Victoria for fully comp insurance, including NCD protection was £341, which is about £50 cheaper than last year.   Its the first time I ever remember gettin g a renewal quote that was actually cheaper than the previous year.

The cheapest on confused.com (just) was Swiftcover (y'know, the annoying Iggy Pop ads on TV) - but they don't provide cover if you happen to stray off tarmac (e.g. onto an untarred Unclassified Road), so I was happy to go with LV again.

I had heard that NFU Mutual are as cheap or cheaper than anyone else for 4x4s - but they don't like my postcode and aren't convinced that most of my driving would be in the country rather than in the city - ho hum ......
