Help I am confused, I am just about to collect my new tow car, a Mondeo 55plate 20 TDCI hatchback,  My problem is this

1. Searching around on EBAY i have found several types some state they will fit all saloon + hatch models, others state excluding TDCI, others state axcludinging ST TDCI, etc !!!!   I have purchased and fitted a towbar from Towequipe on ebay before for my Volvo V40 (Now for sale if anybody wants to make me a sensible offer !!! ) Has anybody out there purchased a bar for this vehicle and if so which model as I want to go away at the end ofthe month so wish to purchase and fit the bar next weekend and get it right first time.

2, Do I need a dedicated wiring kit for this model as I can't seem to find the info elsewhere?   Again has anyone bought one of these and are they worth the money ?.  I already have a bypass relay box which I stripped from the volvo as I only purchased it less than 12 months ago.  If I do require the bypass box I would rather save my time and effort with a dedicated plug in type if they realy are that easy to fit..

Many Thanks Dave.

Here you go, Bosal do them clicky & the wiring kit in 7 or 13pin. Some top of range Mondeos were not approved for towing due to lowered suspension & skirts, I think, hence the exclusion.

They normally exclude the ST range due to the bigger and lower bumper/spoiler fitted to the sporty models.

You do not need the dedicated wiring but it is easier, not so easy on the pocket though.

Brilliant, thanks for the advice,

Will order up the new bar and refit my old bypass filter (got it so may as well use it)  Anybody fancy sending me a handful of scotchlock connectors or is that really being a cheap skate ! ! !

Next question, do I go to Cofton in Devon again or try Lyme Regis .....I can't cope decisions all the time .

Thanks again.

dont use scotchlocks they are a thing of the past . they are a poor way of connecting wires/ splicing.
