Sounds like they have not used the correct wiring harness and have just scotchlocked the wires to the cars loom. I would go back and if you get no joy take a second opinion. If my suspicion is correct, then they have done a very poor job and were lucky not to have blown the electrics on the car.

It sounds like a faulty relay, Is it possible to test the cars lights on a different caravan / trailer to eliminate your caravan?? In my opinion if you get them to change the relay and they have correctly wired it up it should work. Also if you find the fuse that powers the relay if you take the fuse out for 30 seconds then put the fuse back in and try it again it might reset the relay..

Hope this helps

At easter we had a new clutch fitted Dual Mass Flywheel and hydraulics etc yes it is a diesel !! meaning car batterey disconected for several hours

A few day later on  hitching up the caravan to the car the caravan electrics were haywire took it straight back to the garage who said car electrics are working sir !!your problem  nothing to do with us.

Took outfit to local caravan tow bar specalist Peter Bowman in Bury  told them our story, they said caravan relay in car needs resetting which they did and 10 mins later  we were on our way, many thanks to them.
