It had been years since we had towed a van and the difference with having the Alko stabiliser was remarkable

To be honest, there is no need for you to go for the 2004/3004 Alko.

You will get a 1300 easier on Ebay........I know cos I have bid and lost on at least a dozen 3004's.....everyone wants them........

The prices a 3004 goes for, even second hand can be high.

Hi David - I lost the 3004 anyway! But I am just ahead on a 1300 with only just over 10 mins to go.

If we lose that, there are several more 1300 ones on; I have just got permission from the OH to get a mover as well so have to watch the outlay a bit; not getting the van until 21st so time yet!

Never mind.

I like the look of the E-go - do you know if they have nylon or metal gears? The cross actuation would help us as we have to park up against a hedge.

There is a full page review type advertisment about the E-go mover on page106 of the August CC mag which show a picture of the gearbox internals.....a straight cut metal gear and end bearing.......no nylon.

Thanks David - we are in the C & CC! so haven't seen the report. But the metal gears is the clincher. I didn't look too hard under the 'van so I don't know if it has shockers - might that make a difference to the fitting? I would like to fit the mover in front of the wheels to avoid wet spray.

I have my mover fitted at the front of the wheels but I don't have shock absorbers so can't comment on that bit......sorry
