I have a light weight small 2 berth tourer its 20 years old and only weights 550kg. It has some old and tired looking wheels on it , i would like to put some alloy wheels on it to make it look a bit more modern, Is it possible to put any 13" alloys that would fit or do i need special load rated wheels and tyres ?
If its only 550kgs I can't see a problem using alloy wheels & tyres off a car. The tyres should be less than 5 yrs old tho & you must use the correct nuts/studs.

I would recommend using caravan alloys though. Car wheels have a varying range of off-sets (ET's), and you could easily end up buying something that was no use to you.
As Laurent mentioned, you must use the appropriate nuts/bolts. As well as that, they must be torqued up correctly - normally around 85 ft.lbs., as opposed to 65 ft.lbs. for steel wheels.
I'm guessing the op is working to a budget here tho. Its true enough car wheels, even steel ones shouldn't be used on a large caravan & van tyres should be used as well, but car tyres are usually specified on a caravan of this weight so I can't see a problem using car alloys provided they would fit in the wheel arches without fouling at full suspension travel.
