shopping around on confused.com for insurance for our mondeo and just been quoted £136.50 fully comp, protected ncd ,courtesy car and £100 excess through Bradford & Bingley ,£76 cheaper than our renewal price and £55 cheaper than the next best quote.
needless to say it was a done deal and proves it certainly pays to shop around
£76 saved for the france fund in summer
be very sure that the cover for abroad is the same as your UK cover
many Insurers say you have cover BUT it is usually less than third party .as that is all that is required by the EU
Comparison sites are very useful tools for getting a good price and making excellent savings.I would just add as others have said check the small print and that you are comparing like for like.(check the insurers website or ring for exact details and go through the policy with a sceptic mind)I saved £170 this year but there was an £100 increase in the excess you have to pay in the event of a glass claim otherwise the cover was exactly the same.Even if I have to claim I'm still quids in.
We were with Directline for years but my son recently discovered that if you get an online quote it will be about 25% cheaper than the renewal quote. That's what I do everytime now. They ring up a bit later to ask, "why have you left us?". I love telling them the reason, but they still won't learn to look after their existing customers.

Quinn go for younger drivers, we have just insured a KA for our daughter to learn in, Quinn £500, rest £1000++++++++++
For just the wife and I the cost was £350, compared to £150 with others, but as
we want the car insured for our daughter we went for it.
