We tow with a Vectra and the Milenco mirrors fit fine.

had an ecoflex 160hp for 4 weeks now
all i can say is don't bother - absolutely useless towing
experienced the worst snaking ever , even though loaded correctly ( 85% and 85kg nose weight )
Fortunately had tow pack fitted which included ( retractable towbar - very nice piece of kit
self leveling suspension and the life saver trailer assist which cured snaking een though it frightened the life out of us when it came on automatically
Constantly up and down the gearbox and rarely above 4th
Already looking at a S-MAX

Thanks for all the comments , I eventually opted for a Toyota Avensis tourer 2.0 litre diesel. Tows better than the Passatt i had before . Well balanced and the 126 bhp seems enough to cope with our van . Had it since mid May and engine seems to be loosening up nicely with a noticeable improvement in performance.
So glad i now chose it over the Insignia , it would seem my concerns have been born out by Scarletlad's experience .
I found that while test driving the Insignia ecoflex that the taller gearing made it impossible to run smoothly in 5th at 50mph ( through roadworks ) this without towing .
The Avensis will pull in 6th gear whilst towing at a steady 60mph ( admittedly on the flat )

Phil
